Highly Informative and Well Presented

Anatomy and Asana is quite an accomplishment. I took a university course on yoga, and recommended that this text be added to the required reading. Any serious student of yoga, and all instructors, should have this book as a resource. The information is clearly and concisely presented, with illustrations and brief meditative quotes throughout. I agree with the reader below that it complements Coulter's much larger book "The Anatomy of Hatha Yoga" well, and would add, that if you found his text daunting, start here. What makes "Anatomy and Asana" more accessible is that it was created to accompany a live workshop, and has more of a "workbook/presentation" feel. That said, it's amazing how much information is on these pages. You will refer to this yoga resource for years to come.

Extremely valuable

As a yoga instructor, I am always looking for books to assist my growth as a teacher. Anatomy can be a challenging aspect of teaching yoga - until now. "Anatomy and Asana: Preventing Yoga Injuries" by Susi Hately Aldous is a very accessible anatomy book for yoga instructors and practitioners alike. Unlike other similar books, which tend to be dry, boring reading, this book is written in an easy to understand fashion with clear illustrations. I felt more comfortable with my understanding of anatomy and how it relates to yoga after reading this book. It will be a very useful companion to my other anatomy books - and most likely, it will be the main one I turn to.

A MUST HAVE for Yogi's and Yogini's

If your are conducting Yoga Asana training of any style consider this for one of your textbooks. If you teach Asana of any style this book is a must read. If you own a studio this should be required reading for every teacher before they are allowed to do hands-on corrections (alignments) in your studio. If you are a student you should consider buying this as a helpful guide for your own practise.

Well presented, readable, good illustrations, --highly recommended. Complements Coulters classic Anatomy and Hatha Yoga.

I was fascinated as a young girl watching my grandmother float through the kitchen, moving quickly and with precision as she turned out dish after dish to serve to family and friends. Her care and commitment as she created each course, brought out at just the perfect moment for its unveiling, would suck me in with the power of the statement it made. There would be days midweek that my grandmother would appear on her bicycle in the driveway, a basket of fresh doughnuts hanging from the handlebars just because. It was then that I truly appreciated the beauty that lives in the process of giving and gifting food to others and the ability it has to connect us all.

I never lost my passion for creating meals to be raved over or desserts that made a statement just by placing them on the table. For me, the kitchen has always been about me giving a part of myself to others. It is what keeps me there every day, to share it with my four children and to demonstrate the importance of a home-cooked meal.

Desserts in Jars is a small piece of me that I am giving, a bit of sweet to be savored at the end of a long day. Honored to have it.

What a great piece of history to own. As I read it, I could hear his voice, and only imagine what his life was really like. I met him once at the Paul Garber facility in Suitland, Md., just before his passing. What a Marine, what an honor to have met him. Read his story. The tv series was a little to Hollywood he said, and most did not happen the way it was portrayed. He was shot down, and in fact was a POW in the latter of WWII. He received a better imprisonment than most, because he was honored and a legend to the Japanese as well. Doesn't get any better than this. Read the book first, then go to Netflix and watch the series. Second only to Joe Foss and Joe's Jokers.

Pappy Boyington's Black Sheep

This is the best item I've ever received from Amazon. It'a autographed by Pappy Boyington and in excellent condition. The book tells of his exploits during WWII and prior to the war when he was with the AVG (American Volunteer Group) in China fighting the Japanese. He was an amazing man who, inspite of his drinking excesses, accomplished much, even winning the Congressional Medal of Honor. This book covers a lot of history and if you are interested in Pappy Boyington, it's a must have.

This a great book and history of the real Black Sheep Squadron, I got my copy from "Pappy" at EAA 30 years ago and I am enjoying reading it again.
