About the Author

Robert C. Bosack, DDS, is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. He has served as an examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and has served on the board of directors of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He is the executive director of Dental Anesthesia Online. Dr. Bosack speaks at national dental and anesthesia conferences and has written professional articles and the book Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office. He maintains a private practice in Orland Park, Illinois. 

Stuart Lieblich, DMD, is clinical professor in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He is a Past President of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a past Director of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He serves on the editorial board of 3 major journals, has written more than 20 textbook chapters, and is an invited speaker at national conferences. Dr. Lieblich maintains a private practice in Avon, Connecticut.

About the Author

Andréa Curiacos Bertolini is involved in scientific research on starch and biopolymers. She has a PhD in food science from the Université de Nantes in France, where she worked with a concentration on starch chemistry at the Institute Nationale de Recherche Agronomique (INRA) in partnership with the Centre de Coopération Internationale en Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement (CIRAD). As an invited researcher, she worked at the Fonterra Research Centre in New Zealand and at the University of Idaho in the United States on Modified Starches and Starch Rheology. At present she is a food scientist at the Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (EMBRAPA–Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, Brazil). Her interests include biopolymers with an emphasis on starch characterization, modified starches, and starch as an ingredient in food and nonfood products.

Beautifully written!

Captive Witch is so raw, haunting and compelling, it demands attention. It is tragic and destructive from the beginning to the end, yet beautiful, sad and painfully honest at the same time. I love Cage's thought-provoking portrayal of the world of sexual violence and relationships that are self-destructive & all-consuming, and the juxtaposition of that with the paradigm of a progressive morality that abhors violence and subordination of women. It was interesting how Cage demonstrated how the latter could handicap one from embracing, recognizing and accepting love in its rawest form. Highly recommended!

This is honestly my favorite book from Soraya Cage. Not only is it suspenseful, thrilling, heart breaking, and full of complex emotions throughout, but the end will leave you on your knees, begging for mercy, yet knowing that it could only end in that way. The climax is amazing, and will have you reading it again just to let it sink in. Never have vampires and witches been so thoroughly described, analyzed, and brought forth as dark creatures with intense human emotions! I am assured that readers will not be dissatisfied with this magnificent story that portrays complex characters that will have you denying what is right and wrong. Though this is a book in a series, it can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading all Cage's stories.

I really don't have the words to fully express the raw honesty of Soraya Cage's writing style. I deeply connect with each of her characters in each of the books she writes. Her books leave a lasting impression, I know that this somber (but beautifully written) ending will stay with me through out the day as my heart feels for the loss of each other characters in this book. Each character (in all her books) will surprise you, you'll find that you ride the emotional highs and lows with each of them. This is extremely rare for me to find in any book. As a result, Soraya Cage gas skyrocketed to the top my my favorite authors list.

About the Author
Leonard R. Johnson received a Ph.D. in physiology from the University of Michigan and then trained with Dr. Morton I. Grossman at UCLA. He spent 17 years as a Professor of Physiology at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston before moving to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center as the Thomas A. Gerwin Professor and Chairman of the Department of Physiology. He is the author or coauthor of over 250 papers on gastrointestinal physiology and holds an NIH MERIT Award. Currently he is the Vice Chancellor for Research at Tennessee.

Succinct text on GI physiology

80 MC questions with answers are provided in the appendix, which, according to my seniors, are very helpful for exams. The book is clearly written and includes some basics on the topic. Since it is not a bulk title, the book may be read and digested thoroughly within limited time.

I don't highly recommend this book unless you are ready for a low technical book. It is easy to read and has only about 150 pgs. Good for review, maybe not in depth enough for board type questions.
